Worldwide Guests Visiting Luxor4u
I've just noticed that we have a Chinese guest viewing the site at the moment. Is that a first?

the L4U site is so friendly it is like a big family yet I've visited Egyptsearch and think it's such a bitchy site. Some posts get quite nasty, not the type of place you'd want to contribute toWizard wrote:I think it's wonderful how Luxor4u attracts people from all over the world.
when she was good she was very very good but when she was bad she was better

do we have brief descriptions of the site available in other languages or at least, greetings? - what does anyone think - ? it might make this place seem more accessible to international visitors..... perhaps if a list of languages is drawn up we coulD pool resources and brains and help translate greetings into different languages? I dunno - just shooting from the hip - what does anyone think?

This has been touched upon before Engoz. It was then said that, as the Forum was English-founded, and English was the main language of the web, English would be used..( or words to this effect).
Steps are frequently taken to ensure that the idioms, colloquialisms etc of UK members - (the majority) do not inhibit members whose mother tongue is not English - not always done I'm afraid, and I for one am guilty - but at least it introduces them to street/newspaper English...
As I write, not sure the "other languages" suggestion is a good one. If you start off with them, it might loose a torrent at which most English-only speakers would be terrified!!!
Awaiting input on this one.

As English is a world language, spoken by many peoples across the globe I am of the opinion that we should stick with it as the L4U standard. English is also the standard with many such as the EU, Air Traffic Control to name but 2. Even if some people are not fluent they often have a smattering of the language and can make themselves understood.

[face=Comic Sans MS]I'm becoming quite a flag watcher - (there must be a special name for that, other than anorak!).
Tonight we have a guest from Slovakia. It is the first time I have seen that Flag on site.[/face]
