Books
I met a really nice young woman on the ferry today she is training to be a teacher and loves to read, she asked me to recommend some books that she would enjoy, has any one any suggestions. Her English is very good.

Re: Books
A bit difficult to answer without knowing what sort of interests she has!
Did she give you any clues at all?

Re: Books
She loves Charles Dickens but wanted something a little more up to date, problem is the content. She is training to be a philosophy teacher but from what I understood not as we would know it more a student councillor.

Re: Books
It's great to hear of someone loving reading. Where does one start with recommendations?! My question is, whatever is recommended, how would she get them?

Re: Books
I would suggest that she takes a look at all the 'free' books available on Kindle, many of them are the out of copywrite stuff such as the classics, Dickens, The Brontes etc. there will be many more modern authors available that maybe write in a similar style regarding people and places, Mark Twain may be a good place to start.
