Dictionary for Kindle and/or Android phone?
Can anyone recommend a decent French-English / English-French dictionary that I can download to my Kindle and/or my phone (Galaxy Ace). A free download would be preferable but prepared to pay if it's a good dictionary i.e easy to use and informative without being too complex.

Can't recommend one, but Google App's will have loads of free ones.. You more or less have to sign up for that with Android..
I guess by best, you mean Accurate. . .
Only one way to check that..
Learn French, or find a French friend.. or "Ami Francais".. Bon Ami Francais, even..

Amazon have the Collins dictionary for the Kindle at £3.99. There are also cheaper versions of French English dictionaries
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

Thanks Stan. I did a quick search on Amazon but the couple that I looked at were really only translators for the Kindle i.e to work in conjunction with the books being read. I'll have a look at this one too. It would be useful to have one on my phone and my kindle at the moment.

Re: Dictionary for Kindle and/or Android phone?
At the moment I have just started reading "Kullu tamam!, an introduction to Egyptian Colloquial Arabic". Though it is not specific to Luxor Arabic, it does cover the essentials and has a fairly extensive dictionary (Arabic to English and English to Arabic) at the back. I do not know if I shall stick at it long enough to learn some useful phrases as I am 70 and already speak seven languages with varying degrees of proficiency. Learning Hieroglyphs gave me enough understanding of totally new vocabularies together with a new script to be able to recommend this book, but expect to spend a lot of time learning. For those who just want a dictionary, I think the one included will be sufficient. It is published by the American University in Cairo (to whom I have no connection!).
I see that the Passport Office (to choose something in all our interest) translates as idart iggawazat ( don't have the necessary transliteration characters on my keyboard!).
Good luck!
Jim.
