Heat wave to hit Egypt on Sunday

Luxor temps have been around 42/46C this week.

Meteorologists warned that a heat wave will hit Egypt on Sunday. Temperatures in Greater Cairo will reach 43 degrees celsius.

Moderate weather will prevail in the delta and in Cairo. High temperatures are expected in Upper Egypt.

Waheed Saudi, spokesperson for the General Authority for Meteorology, told Al-Masry Al-Youm that Egypt was stricken by a heat wave on Friday. Temperatures increased by 7-8 degrees celcius, but went back down on Saturday.

The temporary decline in temperatures will continue today. Saudi added that temperature will increase again by 8-9 degrees tomorrow.
