It’s that time of the year when I look at my annual trip to Luxor from Heathrow. I was shocked to see how much the fares have risen since the start of hostilities in the area. I normally use netflights for my October trip but they wanted over £1000 for the direct Luxor flight. Egyptair have no seats for the return trip available either.
I’ve since looked at TUI who fly from Manchester on Tuesdays quoting £499 plus extras. Seem like a no brainer. The down side to that is a 9am departure with a 22.35 arrival back which for me means hotel accommodation either side which would add another £150 at today’s prices.
Buyer beware

Re: Buyer beware
On the bright side Crewmeal, you will get dropped off at the terminal and the automated self check is right in front of you, slightly to the right, and it's a breeze,
Scan your boarding pass at any of the terminals weigh your bag and put the sticker that machine gives you on your bag and drop it off on the conveyor just a few feet away. Walk down to security and again to enter, scan your boarding pass. You should be through there fairly quickly now it's all been revamped.
It's just a short walk to the departure lounges through duty free area. The waiting area is good, if you smoke, then there's a smoking area upstairs by the escalators.
Most of the gates are at most a 5 minute brisk walk.
You won't need to present your passport anywhere until you are boarding the plane.
We usually arrive at 06.15 at Manchester, so it gives us plenty of time to shop and have a bite to eat etc.. . On a Tuesday the airport is relatively quiet anyway.
Our last 2 trips we have had no wait at all.
On arrival, we use our taxi driver friend and are at the hotel an hour and a half before the coaches arrive.
Anyhow, enjoy the break.

Don't look back. That's not the direction you are travelling towards.
