In the past few days the tomb of Amenhotep III in the Western Valley has been re-opened to the pubic. It been some twenty years since it was last opened for a short period, this was after a Japanese team had done extensive work on the tomb.

The reason why I say this is special, is because already long before his death he took on the religious thinking that was to dominate the life of his son Amenhotep IV, better known to us as Akenaton. It unusual that a Pharaoh should use the Western Valley as his resting place, but so did, as I believe did Tutankhamun, that is until the Pharaoh Ay took it for himself. In the area known as the Nobles Tombs there are two such tombs that were officials during the reign of Amenhotep III, and there we can see clearly relief in the form of the worship of the Aten.

Some on here will remember when Hawass had some two hundred workers digging up the far end of the WV, looking for what was said a queen of the Eighteenth Dynasty, if anything I believe he was looking for a cashe of Smenkhkar's. If there is such a cashe, I believe he will certainly need one hell of a crane to aid him,......enough said.
