Now I'm a bit of a tagine freak, had loads of them, I proof them for 2 days, still they break.

Anyhow sheep, little lambs, flocks of them going up and down our street twice a day.
Can you buy Lamb / Haroof here in Egypt.

Daft you think, go try. A month ago we toured the East Bank ending up in Medena St, being offered from an
antique freezer a sad looking frozen 2kilo leg of Lamb. 700le ffs.. "La shukran" basha!

Had the same problem with Kanzeer/Pork, my mate delivered a live trussed up pig a few years ago, I declined
his offer, that I could keep in the bathroom. I kid you not.

Same with goat, we have goats, nice. What about Goat Curry ?

I really enjoy goat when it is cooked long and slow, as in a tagine.
Last year I was taken to a recently opened Turkish restaurant that boasted it's goat tajine so naturally ordered it. What a disappointment. I was convinced it was neither goat nor lamb, but scraggy beef that most certainly had not been cooked long or slow to melt the fats, tenderise it, and bring out the flavours. I was in the awkward position of being the guest, but with a meal I would have preferred to have sent back.
