My thoughts often turn to L4U members that I have got to know the wonders of the internet over the last 20 years, many of whom are no longer with us for one reason or another.
I was prompted by Crewmeal's post to respond...
I have always wanted to visit Iran, but alas the timing has never been right: no money/no time/ill health/no go zone/war...you name it, I've been stopped by one thing or another every time I've started planning. I did get as far as looking into the visa requirements. ...crewmeal wrote: Sun Jun 15, 2025 3:38 pm
I remember flying in and out of Tehran back in the 70’s whilst the Shah was ruling and what great country it was.
These days, whenever I hear of events in Iran, especially the bombings of the last few days, I always think of Tannaz. She was a member and regular contributor of Luxor4you from it's early days and for many years. Tannaz was Iranian but was helping on a humanitarian mission in (as I recall) Iraq. Sadly, they were bombed and many were killed but Tannaz made it out alive but severely injured, requiring her to face a number of major surgeries. I remember she was moved to Paris, for more surgery I think, but sadly we lost contact although I did my best to trace her. I still miss our typed conversations, (a time before I had any voicemail gadgets) and wonder what happened to her. I know someone, maybe Tannaz or maybe someone with access to her account, would occasionally look in on L4U, but they haven't done so for years.
