Plenty on the internet news channels about the on going fighting in Sudan. I wonder how this will spill over into Egypt. The airline have suspended flights to the country and Sudanese air traffic is closed.

The war that was once on the south of Sudan is now effecting much more so the north of that of that country, people I understand are desperate to leave, and are entering Egypt in any way they can. So many have entered Egypt quite legally, however the government needs to know where they are and who they are paying rent to. Therefore it seems that ANYONE living in Egypt must produce evidence of their home, which evidence that it is their own property, therefore ownership is now the official evidence, rather than the usual utility bills as in the past, also the authorities need to gather the missing tax payable from landlords.
.....so I understand.
Remember also there are millions of illegal people there that directly or indirectly are living in accommodation the authorities want to claim the taxes that are legally required. In the old days in the U.K. if you had sub-let you the landlord avoided tax, these day you pay 20% tax, plus estate agent management fees of upto 15%.
The authorities in Egypt are getting g $ income which ever way they can.
