I recently read a post on a well know social media site, that mentioned the price the person, a (non-UK) ex-pat living in Luxor, had paid for a taxi from the West Bank Ferry area to Memnon. I was quite shocked by what they had paid - can't remember exactly what it was but it was over 60LE - but realise that everywhere has been hit by huge inflation and it has been a long time since I was in Luxor. It did make me wonder what the realistic prices are though for the various forms of Luxor transport.
So...what are the realistic prices for transport in and around Luxor these days?

Re: Transport Prices
As ever, I think. Not being flush enough to use taxis, we still rely on the good old arabayas at 2 quid a ride. However, it seems that prices have, at least, doubled here in the past few years, and in some cases the increase has been a lot more severe.
Small aish fino (white finger rolls) are now 7 for 5LE, whereas i'm sure it's only a short time since they were 8 for a pound! We now pay our taxi man 250LE for a run to the airport, although I'm sure I could get him down a bit from that; but don't really want to.
Private tourist accommodation hasn't risen very much at all, of late. Probably because many of the current owners have no (or very little) financial investment in them, and are just using them as a source of pocket money since their former benefactors have seen the light of day!
When I go supermarket shopping, I usually need to take 1000LE(!) instead of the 250, or whatever, that it used to be. If you came back now, you'd be horrified at both the prices and the poverty!
Mnd you, I know a lady here who will still NOT pay more than 25LE for any taxi journey within Luxor itself!

Re: Transport Prices
What would be classed as fair now, say from the Nile palace to Tudor temple?
