The Finnish singer, Anita De Coteau, will be performing at the Sheherazade Hotel, Gezira al-Bairat, on the evening of Tuesday 8 November.
Anita De Coteau is an international singer who has been performing all over the world: her background is in Portuguese fado singing.
She worked previously as a professional fado singer on the Island of Madeira.
In Egypt she is singing well known love songs from different eras. She is accompanied by guitarist Abdalla Gohar.
Tickets cost 750LE, to include a buffet dinner.
The buffet will be served/opened at 19:00 and the performance is scheduled for 20:00

Re: Concert at Sheherazade
Bet it will be packed out with locals. 750le seems a little steep, or is the Egyptian Pound plummeted?

Re: Concert at Sheherazade
As this event has already taken place, I'm surprised (but shouldn't be) that Major Thom has bothered to comment. He must be bored. He must also be feeling the financial pinch if he thinks that £25/26 is steep to hear a professional singer and have a buffet dinner too. Perhaps we should have a whip round for him.

it is what you do with what happens to you.

Re: Concert at Sheherazade
For God's sake, over many years now I have had to read such daft comments on this forum addressed either to myself or Major Thom, where we have ignored them. When applied to other long term members, they have simply disappeared.
If there was ever a time to stop these sad silly comments, it's now before it's too late.

Too late for what?
Your comment, A-Four, could be interpreted as threatening but I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

That didn't cross my mind, Hepzibah, I think that A-Four was more likely to have meant too late for the forum to stop shedding active members. I don't mind people being made fun of on here, and while being guilty of it myself on occasion, I have also had my share of ridicule. But still having a go at Choccy is really quite boring, after reading similar posts over sooooo many years.
Although some always insist that L4U is the 'friendly' forum, I believe that this sort of personal persecution has certainly driven several members away quite needlessly.

Re: Concert at Sheherazade
Hepzibah, this last year I went to Fleetwood Mac Concert, Queen Concert, Il Divo Concert, and a few 60's bands in Concert so no I don't miss out, I just enjoy. Has any of them appeared at the Sherazade? Regarding A4's post, sometimes I like A4 do not read posts because they are not worthy of reading. They are just typical of what we both got used to in Luxor
