Saw an amazing documentary last night called The Lost Leonardo.
Highly recommended viewing.

It ticked all my boxes and sent me racing to the Mac and IMDB and Wiki.

My first auction, Mum let me bid for a genuine pair of Indian moccasins.
Mum was totally mad about all antiques, 'bain of my dad's life.

I lost those moccasins to some old b******d fat woman who outbid me....but!

I never lost that buzz and got caught the bug from then on.
Looking, learning, admiring, appreciating, bidding, buying, mending, selling, stealing...an endless list.

I should write a book...

The antique bug has reached every level of society these days.
No bad thing in my book, people appreciate the art of the artisan and beautiful things....




Ps: My mate, Bruce's wife Angie had a antique shop in Twickenham, when he got nicked.

I'm not an art buff, officianiado, or snob, but I do have an appreciation of many art forms.
One of my favourite UK television programmes has been Fake or Fortune presented by Fiona Bruce, where people have an inkling, or perhaps family legend, that a piece if art - usually a painting - is a lost or undiscoverrd masterpiece. Alternatively, they think their loved piece really is just a copy.
They present their art to the programme to be studied, often by now very technical and forensic methods, and to be evaluated or reevaluated by [so called] experts in the field. (It is often these later folks that are the art snobs. )
Fascinating programme and an enjoyable way to spend an hour. Just a shame there are so few episodes.

It was quite interesting. I noticed one of the previous owners of this supposed version of the Salvador Mundi was one Alexander Parish.

Any relation?

It is a Danish film. I enjoyed it with the art club at my favorite cinema in Copenhagen.
