I wish I was joining you all, but it’s impossible. However I’ve organised a small group of Carols friends here in Datca, and we will meet at one of her favourite places, the harbour, to raise our glasses and remember her.

Can anyone living in Luxor kindly give an update with regards Carries funeral. How did it go and how many people where able to attend. Also has she been buried in the same cemetery where Stan is buried. If it is she is in good company. Did either of her 2 children a daughter and a son manage to attend. I am already missing the weekly messages we used to send each other and will also miss not being able to meet up with her the next time I am in Luxor.

Carrie had friends and flowers at her funeral. There were about a dozen of us there (European and Egyptian), and yes she is in the same cemetery as Stan. Her landlord and good friend invited us all back to her building after the funeral for refreshments.

Thank you for that, hatusu. It's comforting to know that, while she died alone, at least a few friends were able to be there to see her off. I'm sure that many more will miss her greatly, either from her contributions on here or through the lack of future private communication either over the Internet or in person. I know that we will.
God bless her!

Sorry to hear of her passing, she always carried a file with her so she could sharpen her tongue ready for a run in with me. All the same handsome good times all there is to say RIP Carrie
