Who's to Blame...

I am afraid that this country of mine has reached the pits.
No one here knows if their men or women or both.
We have a totally corrupt government, nothing new there then.
Absolutely no opposition party, blame Jeremy Corbyn.
A crooked ex MP who tried to use his wife's suicide rather than his own actions for her demise.
And to top it all, not a single word of the absence of,
Tomato Juice anywhere with which to create
my Saturday
Bloody Mary...ffs..
That's it I'm off, sod this lot I need to return to The Land of the Dead, mind you I should have invested
in the Provence or Languedoc, with a far better quality of food/wine/cider oh! and richer ex-pats.
But hey ! at 72 tomorrow I should be so lucky...'small mercies come to mind.
Take no offence just a small rant.....
Ps: One landlord just informed me he has Parkinson's another MS..jesus.....

Your post reminds me of the opening lines of Dickens Tale of two cities. Even today those words are just as relevant. Funny how the books you read as a kid can stay with you for a lifetime.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way.
In short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.

Oh yes. Happy Birthday for tomorrow.
Same day as me, and hitting the big 6 0
We are touring Scotland as of tomorrow for a week.
I'll have a bloody Mary for you. Wales seems to not have the same issues as the rest of the country.

I should think that you're feeling very homesick, Doctor. We certainly were, but we were stuck in England for 20 months.
So glad to be back to a full week of cleaning and coping with everything which has gone wrong or just doesn't work any more.
Have a safe journey, and don't forget your mask!

You can get a good supply of tomato juice from Sainsbury's (80p) along with the cocktail mixes for a BM, at a price of course. I do like a Virgin Mary with my sandwich at lunchtime.

Happy birthday Dr, am sure you'll have a great day, and looking forward to getting back to your winter home, be prepared for the four inches of dust you will find everywhere in your place though.
There are a few things that might interest you that el president has decreed, for example, all political rants that were once a major feature at Friday prayers are now banned throughout the nation, so such gathering will be much shorter than before, especially in Upper Egypt.
Another interesting note for tourists and ex-pats is that you can now get the V.A.T. back on certain goods you may wish to bring back to the U.K. This system works similar to the U.K. and E.U., but read the small print.
