UK Foreign travel advice for Egypt (update)

The FCDO no longer advises against all but essential travel to Egypt, based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) continues to advise against all travel to:
the Governorate of North Sinai.
The FCDO continues to advise against all but essential travel to:
the Governorate of South Sinai beyond the Sharm el Sheikh perimeter barrier.
the area west of the Nile Valley and Nile Delta regions, excluding the coastal areas between the Nile Delta and Marsa Matruh.

Yep....a great relief to those wanting to come to the usual tourist spots of Egypt as their insurance will no longer be invalidated.

But it makes me laugh when they warn against South Sinai and west of the Nile valley because of security risks....but then say Sharm, Luxor, Marsah Matrouh etc are ok!

As if terrorists wouldn’t love to bomb a load of tourists rather than shooting a few peasants tilling the fields.

Aaah but....I hear you say. The tourist resorts are well guarded with superb security etc.

Yeah right.... :urm:
