Holidaying in egypt for many months of the year I always missed the feel, the fun, the smell of a newspaper.
Here I read local rags and always Saturday's Grauniad.

20 odd years ago reading a local rag, I managed to acquire 6 apartments for friends.
Reading this week's Guardian I have finally, found out why I have 'headbanger headaches.

My Dr gave up after a few years even though me wanting to strangle him, tomorrow I'm off to see him or try!
It's also known as the 'suicide headache, Now I never knew that, and had never heard of cluster headaches.
1 in 1000 UK sufferers, I have never met another.

So, you learn something new everyday, It's good to hear you don't have a brain tumour,
cheers one right up!...'trust me... 8)

Ps: It brings a whole new meaning to 'clusterf*ckers.....

So after posting this to friends on FB for their comments, here is an 800 word piece I did for the local rag.

It's my first attempt at public writing, I'm doing this while waiting for my ruddy bank to answer my call.
Being honest 'a member of staff won't be with me shortly'.... 8)

I’m sure they do.

Not many 1&2 page newspapers nowadays. Not worth the trouble. :P

Sunday: Sat in the sun reading today's Observer's Food & Drink section, whilst observing.
Our market was heaving by noon.

Any shop not opened on a Sunday soon had tables outside them by bars, restaurants & coffee shops.
After perusing the paper and a couple of drinks, I vacated my sunny table to inform Gareth, the owner of
Cafe Kick, "if Mike down at The Eagle on Farringdon road was open ?

It was not, with a sign saying 'See You on the 26th'.
Reported back to Gareth, he said "The Wilmington is still closed, it's owned by Green King"
I said "yeh! I noticed, it opens on the 27th of May".

But did notice this piece by Jay Rayner:
https://www.theguardian.com/food/2021/a ... ck-at-home

Quote Jay: "Early on in the crisis, the restaurateur Mike Belben told me that he wasn’t in the business of selling steaks and wine. “We’re selling atmosphere,” he said.
That's Mike of The Eagle....

I do observe that I move in exceptional circumstances. "Observation is high on my survival list.. 8)
Ps: I bet Indian restaurants don't boom back with 230,000 new daily covid cases and 2 daily flights into the UK....ffs

So, I wasn't wrong about India..
I often get asked when am I returning to Egypt ?
I mean... 47 covid cases on one plane/sardine can from Delhi,
let's face it, think about all those poor refugee camps around the globe,
let alone international travel. Quote: Yvette Cooper

They won't get rid of this covid strain it's far to clever against a a dumb enemy.

Spotted this whilst reading The I newspaper 56 pages for 65p a bargain sitting in the sun,
supping a complimentary drink and learning how football is....
a game owned by thugs, played by thugs and watched by thugs... 8

Ps: Now I know why rich people like living on their own Islands.
Pss: And, I have alway's loathed the football culture. Mind you Les was ok..'or was it Rio ?
