Well not places I necessarily frequented but breaking news, The Jewel of the Nile is closed as is Murphy's and the Kings Head. Hamees and Sindbads went some time ago.
Places to go on the east bank are gradually dwindling whilst here on the west bank, new cafe's opening and things thriving.
So glad I made the move across .
Obviously when I moved to the West Bank, I didn't move far enough from the 'madding crowd.
The madding crowd has followed me, it's maddening ffs....
Ps: My 1st West Bank idyllic retreat...

After three years on East Bank, I thought it was time to travel again.
Before leaving Egypt, I decided to spend one year on West Bank. That’s thirteen years ago this month.
Thanks for the reply I'm glad to read that the café is staying open, but sad to find that the others are gone. They're our favourite haunts when we are there, but mostly because they're so handy for the Nile Palace where we stay. No doubt when we're able to return, we will be asking for suggestions for other places to go.
Here on the bright side folk are more mask conscious, so businesses close because the people know the consequences of none social distancing without one while indulging in that all important pint and a sarnie.you are all doomed.

Really Dusak? Very few wearing masks that I could see. The people on the micro buses don't wear them either, apart from the drivers. Very, very, few in the local souk.
I'm talking about restaurants and other watering holes, not local transport or shops. The places that are accustomed to trading with tourists/ foreigners usually have a more intelligent mindset, but still controlled by profit margins lol.

Nobody is winning really the tourists are not back in any form of numbers. I feel sorry for those who put money into business's only to see them fail through the lack of a maintained blood flow or tourism.

Well I am very sad to hear of anyone who has died from lack of blood flow although I suppose that's what see's us all off in the end.

I blame the unreliable cocks.
Quit correct carrie, no blood flow, no cocks. I know some would consider that to be quite a flaccid statement, but there you go.
