Re: UK govt won't issue vaccination passports
I do feel a little sorry for the typical family holidaymakers. They have been mucked about for well over a year and, while I doubt they‘ll actually lose any money, missing their annual dose of sun, sea and sand for another year must be very frustrating. I’m afraid the (at least) three PCR tests, plus 10 days quarantine will make a foreign holiday too expensive for many...even if permitted.Who2 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 2:53 pm Well if you think we will have beaten Covid 19 within 4 months good luck.
Sure we will have to live with it as we did the rest having annual inoculations.
But guaranteed those holiday makers will have hell of a time getting their deposits back!
They should really consider Margate or Mevagissey even Midsomer Norton, the death rate there will
probably be lower than Marbella.imho...![]()
For me....all I need is the ability to fly

And, having been vaccinated, I’ll happily take my chances with the virus.
Chances are, by the time I do consider returning to UK - for Christmas - it’ll all be over.

I think he was joking, which Xmas is he talking about.
It's getting here or there that is the problem, as they say "it's not the journey ahead that wears you out,
It's the grain of sand in your shoe".
In this case it's mixing with people on trains, planes and automobiles, going anywhere...

Will you still be terrified of being in a confined place with others, once you’ve been vaccinated?

Vaccinated or not I don't like being in any crowded place unless, I'm in control.

That’s the problem when you use Google translate rather than doing Latin at school

I was taught Latin when I was 10 years old, but nobody I ever met spoke it...

Re: UK govt won't issue vaccination passports
As far as I am aware, having the vaccine will not prevent you from contracting or spreading covid. Therefore I see no reason why it would be necessary for anyone to have the vaccine in order to travel. At best the vaccine will prevent YOU from becoming seriously ill if you contract it.
I don't know of any country where certain vaccines are necessary in order to travel to said countries. Though it's probably wise to have certain vaccines to travel to some countries.
I'm all for vaccines. They have irradicated many disease from this country. The last major one being polio which was a horrible disease to have. Why are we not insisting that visitors to this country have the polio vaccine for example. ?
There is too much speculation going on at the moment.
I doubt many people will be holidaying this year, there's so many people already booking holidays and trying to jump the gun, more fool them.
I see lots of people who have tried to jump the gun complain that thier holidays have been cancelled as far ahead as June now.
As I have said before. There's more to covid than meets the eye. In Time the bigger picture will emerge. Things are not going to be the same again, but that does not mean it's going to be bad. People are always wary of change.
look where we would be now if the luddites had had thier way... Stay positive and keep safe.

@John Landon
You’re right in that there’s no country currently is requiring Covid-19 vaccination for entrants....but it’s being discussed and some airlines seem quite serious about it. Qantas intend to introduce it when flights resume....as does Saga for its cruises. The latter seems sensible....can’t have old codgers falling ill in the middle of the Pacific. Most inconvenient
Yellow Fever vaccination is required to enter some countries...can’t remember which.....West Africa I recall.

Saga put all the silly old people on floating sardine cans, then they can bury them at sea...
Ps: They all get balconies...Oh! plus we lower our population without affecting the NoS covid death figures.

But are SAGA customers sufficiently compos mentis to give informed consent to a jab?
By and large....probably not.

been looking at vax. passport for for foreign travel your right English don't do one ( don't know about Wales Scotland or Ireland ) but you can get paperwork by phoning 119 ( i think that's the number ) or the N.H.S. app has all the details that seams to be accepted by European countries ( don't know about Egypt ) you may be in a position to know better

Re: UK govt won't issue vaccination passports
Crewemeal posted a link where you can apply online. I got my covid passport in paper form a couple of months ago, as it has no expiry date.
You just apply 4 days after your second jab.
Re reading this post, and still people are having holidays cancelled this September from last September.
The sky's above me have been quiet, though on Thursdays there seems to be a flurry of air traffic from the west heading east. I suspect it's commercial traffic ?
Nothing at all heading north where planes would be lining up to land in Liverpool or Manchester .
I like to visit the old sacred sites here in Wales, particularly Anglesey which has more than its fair share of them, so little chance of being subjected to the kiss me quick hat wearing brigade that frequent the seaside.
Traffic is bloody mental on the A55 as the tourists travel in and out of Wales.
I did go back to the Dales to visit my 2 aunties.
We used to live in thier house for a couple of years, it's been there since Adam was a lad.
Unbelievable that it flooded last year. Food for thought.
We are hopefully going to tour the Highlands for my 60th birthday. Looking forward to that.
As for foreign travel,. Highly unlikely this side of summer 2022, but out of necessity I may need my covid passport to visit a sick relative on the isle of man.

Re: UK govt won't issue vaccination passports
The NHS issue a record of your vaccinations, with a QR code, and this is accepted by most countries ( including Egypt) which admit travellers on the basis of their vaccination record alone.Lucky jim wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 8:59 am been looking at vax. passport for for foreign travel your right English don't do one ( don't know about Wales Scotland or Ireland ) but you can get paperwork by phoning 119 ( i think that's the number ) or the N.H.S. app has all the details that seams to be accepted by European countries ( don't know about Egypt ) you may be in a position to know better
Each country specifies the form the evidence must take, the vaccines acceptable etc
