Mari Girgis moulid started Monday over in Razagat. Well over a million people attend (so they say)
It lasts for 7 days watching trucks loaded with movable homes
and those little comforts one needs whilst camping, all flow past my house heading South...

I saw some photographs of the convoys going/arriving there yesterday. It reminded me of the great excitement my Coptic friends woupd be in at this time of year as I often visited just before, or just after Maris Gergis, but alas never managed to be there at the right time to go with them.

Yeh! it's been a few years since the 'lunatic beardie weirdie brigade opened fire on the festival goers.
Already spotted the early leavers today, but Sunday night & Monday morning will be the big convoy days.
