'Murica..

1969 was a great year for America, probably it's epoch for all its citizens.

Man on the moon and woodstock, where if you know the whole story, JC's feeding of the 5000 pailed into insignificance, as the locals fed over 350,000 festival goers and people there cooked and distributed all the food.

One night an old man came to our old farmhouse in the Dales and was seeking shelter, so my mum said he could stay in the barn where he could be out of the elements. Looking back, my dad was away that night and she was alone with 3 very young children, so in effect all we had was the barn. It was small warm and dry and quite cozy..
Later I took out a try of food for him and a flask and a few shillings on a tray, I went out and took it to him, I was about 5 back then. We chatted for a while then left.
Next morning I went out to see if he wanted anything else, but he was gone, so was the food and drink, but he had left the money on the tray. I often wondered what happened to him and if he was OK.

We can all do our bit when the situation presents itself to us in the real world, face to face so to speak.

My mum said he was a tramp, something I did not quite understand back then, but later when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I said. "A tramp " Much to the dismay of my parents...

Anyway, here is one of America's greatest exports.. Supertramp, Great song, Great Album..

See what I did there ? 8)

I had trouble getting hold of this song, along with "the Logical song" also by Supertramp.
Only recently have they become available to me as well.

Perhaps in about 300 years time they will get you see it In Egypt.. :D
"By Pass proxy servers" are your friend BTW.. Use with caution..

Exactly 7 years after Woodstock, along came this classic.

I am often asked if I would like to go back to those days, truth is after a little hesitation, I say "No", THESE are the best of times, right here, right now. the Pre Sent moment.

The lessons are being learned, and I thank all my teachers. Why go back ?

Incidently, heading back to Woodstock, the Keef Hartley band were one of the headliners..
