I am trying to locate a copy of Sir John Gardiner Wilkinson's map of Thebes.
c 1873 'ish.
Specifically an old Sycamore Tree located on the West Bank that was located somewhere near the Nile during...

The mooring place is indeed marked on several maps e.g Lane 1823, Hughes 1850. Not sure it is in Wilkinson map though?
I have a vague memory reading that someone had located it but can't remember...

Went there yesterday to watch the sunset from the roof and have dinner. We were very disappointed to find that the hotel is having major work done, no food available and the place just a building...

So just returned from a lecture on a picture presentation of Old Gurna at said hotel.
Recommended on here by 'furry fox, BBlux bazza...
Forget the lecture, zee old German guy was not quite really...
