Beeswax

Bought some beeswax whilst I was in Turkey, couldn't find it here, and have made some beeswax polish. Just tried it out and love it, I had a coffee table that was unpainted just raw finished wood and was going to either paint it or varnish it. I really didn't want to do either wanted to bring out the grain of the wood and have a more natural look. Well I have waxed it today and it looks great.
The only thing I have done wrong I think is add essential oil to the mix, it smelt quite strong when I mixed it, lavender, but when the wax has set and you use it the smell kind of evaporates, don't think I used enough.

Old fashioned treatments such as beeswax polish, with or without lavender, are still better than many of the more modern answers. There is also so much more satisfaction in using them too.
