Can't help with personal experience in those cities but have you tried searching Airbnb?

This is addressed to those who live in Luxor and those who have visited over the last two years, and who have a strong interest I'm Egyptology.

There have been a number of tombs and temples...

I think probably the best new 'discovery' in recent years in Luxor is the carefully restored Khonsu and Opet Temples within the Karnak complex, so few see this area though it is now a fully opened...
