Egyptian police have arrested seven people after they were allegedly seen raising rainbow flags at a concert in Cairo last week, security sources say.

The seven were reportedly detained on Monday for "promoting sexual deviancy", but have not yet been formally charged.

More on the story http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-41398193

I'm surprised the authorities know what a rainbow flag is :-)

I doubt they did...until the LGBT supporters made an issue of it. With entirely predictable results.

The vast majority of Egypt's populace is not ready for tolerance on the issue of homosexuality. Whether it ever will be is a moot point.

The best gays can hope for is being ignored...provided they stay firmly in the closet.

As an example of the attitude of most Egyptians, I give you this (posted a few minutes ago on a Hurghada forum) by a lady...apologies for the Google translate...but you get the drift :

ز علمى ولا غزو الفضاء ولا أصلحتوا بين فصائ...

Al-Azhar and the church of the cathedral must reply to the gays to celebrate the celebration of the fifth gathering in Cairo? What are you doing with them? And they have a flag too? For A presence, a slogan, a vision, goals and principles? Hhhhhhhhhhhh,, and the disaster if they have an internal list, policies, procedures, rules, rules and tasks and a message they want to publish? If you are sick, you will be cured instead of spreading your disease and you will be happy with it, and you will spoil it and spoil it and They raise their opinion? What does it mean? A scientific achievement, no space invasion, and no got between our free factions? I swear to God, I swear to God, why don't you see it?

First of all, a man who is gay or gay is seeking treatment and admits that he is ill,, and medicine confirms the possibility of healing such situations with the will and self-restraint of their first mistake to ynsẖdwạ treatment and redress to try to restore the power of the bloodline. First they have to resort to psychological counselling and behavior and specialists in mental health to deal with the perversion of a and to know its medical and psychological reasons,, instead of raising the same LGBT knowledge in Egypt,, the only thing that we are a girl So, the foreigners are religious, the, the and living in the respectable Egyptian houses,, also how are we losing them? Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

Just to add fuel to the fire, anyone who wants to be cured should attend these meetings

http://www.egyptindependent.com/coptic- ... onference/
The conference aims to increase awareness on how to achieve a “speedy recovery” from homosexuality through number of lectures by the Cathedral’s priests.
Don't you just love it!!!

Handsome young boys particularly welcome

With population growth out of control, you'd think they'd welcome non-reproductive couplings :urm:

Take care. The vice squad are on a bit of a roll :

Police arrest 6 'homosexuals' in raid on downtown Cairo flat
Azbakiya prosecution office has ordered the detained defendants be examined forensically to determine whether they have committed homosexual acts

Six Egyptians were detained for four days by prosecutors in Cairo after being accused of inciting the practice of homosexuality and of acts that "violate decency”, a prosecution source told Ahram Online.

Stupid way of confirming or not. I remember a few years ago suffering from acute constipation, nothing short of a stick of dynamite would shift it. When it did finally vacate you would of needed a tape measure to confirm its length and girth for the Guinness book of records, as well as a record number of flushes to try and shove it along and out the pipe. It had the consistency concrete. So I suppose if any of these unfortunates had suffered a similar fate, it would be automatically presumed that it was something else going in the opposite direction :o . :urm: What would they be looking for anyway? Stretch marks? Evidence of going against the grain? Foreign deposits?

Trying to get to the bottom of the problem ?

It's based on totally discredited 19th century "science" and you have to wonder whether it's more to do with humiliating someone whose sexuality you despise rather than attempting to discover whether they've indulged in habitual anal intercourse.

More gruesome reading for you :

I stopped reading your article after the bit about "penile plethysmography" which involves attaching a pressure-sensing device to the penis and being shown heterosexual pornography as I would definitely be down for an immediate fail. :D

Fail?

I think the idea is that if there is no reaction, the subject is homosexual.

Personally, I doubt the most red-blooded male heterosexual would be aroused at the sight of heterosexual pornography whilst seated naked in some dank dungeon whilst a group of nasty-looking individuals strap a wired-up contraption to his manhood.

In my case, in those circumstances, their greatest problem would be on finding it :a82:

Good tip crewmeal.

Always carry a letter from your doctor certifying you have prostate problems (with certified Arabic translation of course). :ct

I had a mate once that suffered constantly with piles. He told me one day that his wife described his latest crop as looking like a very large cluster of blackberries. So, it beggars the question, would a sufferer of piles have to wait until the back door reopens? Or is it like a blocked drain, a good old rodding soon clears the blockage.

You soon will not be able to hang your clean underwear on the line. Wonder if Trumps statement about SH Countries include Egypt?
