A person called at my building today asking about the where abouts of a lady who used to live in the building but has moved some time ago. I told them that the lady had gone and I knew not where to. Because it was very hot I asked if they would like to come in and have a drink. Yes please, so off I went to make a cup of tea. She followed me into the kitchen and remarked on how clean my pans where, I keep them on a pan rack, somewhat taken aback I didn't say anything then a remark was made about the state of my fridge, she had caught me just after having made some pastry and I had flour on the front of the fridge. I didn't say anything I just couldn't believe it that someone should come along, a stranger, then start to comment on the state of my flat.
Not often I am dumb struck but just couldn't believe it. Thought of loads of things to say when she had gone but too late then.

I personally have no time for such ignorant folk, especially when they have been shown hospitality. I've know, and been in the company of such people and have found their remarks quite embarrassing to be part of, be it without any comment from me. You should keep any observed displeasing things to yourself until you leave. I don't comment on how people live, or by what standers they see as exceptable and you certainly have never come across as a tardy person given the number of visitors you have spoken about that regularly visit your pad. :tk Perhaps that is why I never have any.

Don't think there are many European women here who are burglars.
