Re: Advice please
Can't comment on Netflix, but I watch UK TV channels using a VPN, and found it impossible in Luxor because the internet speeds were too slow. Suspect you would have the same problem.

Re: Advice please
In theory you could, but it would need to be via a VPN that accessed a UK Netflix server, but since around March-April 2016 most IP addresses registered with VPN providers are blocked by Netflix. I could elaborate more, but I am sure that our resident computer experts living in Egypt can enlighten you better and internet speeds may be a big problem.

Re: Advice please
That was my thoughts as you guys are always saying how bad the speeds are in Egypt, of course Netflix does allow you to download certain stuff onto another device, but that would limit it's useability.newcastle wrote:I subscribed to Netflix from Egypt but soon cancelled it as the speed was crap.

Re: Advice please
Hatusu, do you have any friends in the UK who have Netflix? If so ask them if they will give you their email log in and password for their Netflix account. Netflix allows other users like family etc. to have their own access and to use it on other devices, soooooooo……….. it is quite feasible that using a UK accessible VPN that you could just log on as another family member so to speak,
at least that way you could see if it would work for you or not and it wont cost you anything (or your friend)

Re: Advice please
Try MAG Box and pay for NTV for a month. You just need an Internet connection, but you get around 200 UK Channels, including Sky F1.

Re: Advice please
If you are that desperate try an Egyptian Satellite broadband and use an American VPN. At least you'll get a proper version of Netflix not the poorer UK version.

Re: Advice please
Seriously, the bandwidth in Luxor is so crap you would not be able to watch anything without it freezing or breaking up. Better to download the shows you want and then watch them later.
Let me know which series you want and I will try to get them for you. My French connection is only 40Mb or so but we struggle on

Re: Advice please
In Egypt it used to be BitTorrenntz for us, what we could not get on Orbit Showtime, we would download via BitTorrentz plug he HDMI lead into he TV and watch. We did try Film On a couple of times but kept buffering, and now Film On is a pay per view. Even Exodus has vanished from sight, so many of the good films are gone. Like ma y posters say the Internet in Luxor is Internet by name only. It did get better when it was supplied to us by phone line though.

Re: Advice please
I discovered yesterday that my Filmon is no longer available, kept timing out every two minutes, but the new version download that I tried, still says ''free TV.'' Downloaded two other so called ''free'' to watch internet TV, both didn't work.
A woman friend living close by bought a box from Souk.com. It gives her over four hundred international TV channels via her internet so may give one a go. A mate of mine keeps me going with all the latest programs, but I've watched them all.

Re: Advice please
Yes Dusak I used to watch Filmon a lot, but from beginning of May it stopped. That's why I was thinking about Netflix. I never had any problem with Filmon, so wondering if I was willing to pay for it it might be a better option than Netflix?

Re: Advice please
From what I understood from the pay to view channels on offer, if you bought the lowest monthly subscription for one channel, then the TV would once again become free.
