Sisi raises food subsidies to 50LE a Month from 21LE

Egypt is more than doubling monthly food subsidies, to 50LE per person from 21LE now, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said on Tuesday.
Egypt has been hit by soaring inflation since it floated its pound currency in November, leading it to halve in value, and has said it plans to shield its poorest citizens from the effects of austerity measures aimed at reforming its economy.

You wouldn't think that 50LE a month helps that much with the puchase of food.
What puzzles me is that Egyptians are still the most obese people in the world.

They need to build a couple more pyramids, that will get them to lose a few pounds

The new fitness and health center across from me that opened a few months back seems to be doing a roaring business going off how many women are willing to sit outside waiting for a place inside. Of course, it could be just down to the fact that they have several exercise bikes, hence the bums rush to get a seat.
