A Lecture on 29th December West Bank Luxor
Posted: Mon Dec 26, 2016 11:52 am
I am pleased to announce that Mr Huib Van Verseveld, Chairman of the Theban Mountains Foundation, will be giving a talk on his work at Hotel Sheherazade on Thursday 29th December, 7.15pm for 7.30pm start. The Theban Mountains Foundation supports and researches ancient Egyptian graffiti on the West Bank, Luxor, Egypt.
Huib, (or Ali as he is known here) will tell us more about the graffiti -how many there are, why they are there and most of all, what they tell us. He will discuss the remote wadis of Western Thebes - is there a new necropool to be found? We will step into the footsteps of Elizabeth Thomas, Spiegelberg, Cerny and Howard Carter.
So as not to disturb the lecture, a buffet meal will be available at 6.30 p.m for anyone wanting to eat, price 60LE. Please advise me if you wish to take the buffet so I can tell the hotel in advance.
