My wife told me that a little while ago he had a heart attack and died for 3 mins before being resuscitated, wonder if his passing was due more to a Heart attack?

He'd had several heart attacks and quadruple bypass surgery. He even smoked & drank in hospital after the operation!
Years of heavy partying have caught up with his dodgy heart and it's only surprising he lasted so long.
A great performer, RIP.

Goodness I did not realize he had been so ill, by what you say it seems he was living on borrowed time. Still a shame though he was still not old by all means

He lived on the Isle of Man for a long time, I think Francis Rossi did as well.
Unlike Jeremy Clarkson, he was a really nice bloke and got on well with the locals out there.
I was there back in April to see 10ccc at the Villa Marina and my Brother in Law was telling me about him.
I never really liked the Quo, only due to the fact the music was a repetitive 3 chord arrangement, but if you ever heard what these 2 brilliant musicians were really capable of, they were pure genius and extremely talented.
Still a man has to eat and keep the wolf from the door...
RIP Rick, another great talent lost in 2016..
Expect more to come, and no there's no esoteric explanation, just simple numbers...

Sadly every year the entertainers that you grew up with from a child start to drop you suddenly realize that we of similar age are standing in the same queue with the fickle finger of fate randomly picking the next one.

As a mate of mine said at a recent funeral we both attended "we are all standing in line at the crematorium door"

When my grandmother was alive she always enjoyed watching those very old early films, and often would remark while watching them that 'we are being entertained by ghosts'.

That's one line that you won't find in Egypt Horus.

... wonder if that decreases the odds of hearing the call...

No, as I understand it they just chuck you on the back of a truck and tip you in a hole, very dignified

I once raced Alan Lancaster from Maidstone to Swanley one night.
He was in an MGB GT and I was in my little 'ol Alpine I wiped the floor....
They had just done a gig at Maidstone Art College we,
'blagged our 'access all area's by buying him and the drummer an Indian meal in King St,
for some unknown reason to me, a really great gig though....
