Major Thom wrote:I remember a young Policeman, stopping a car because the car was not showing a tax disc, the Policeman asked the driver why his car was not taxed, the driver told the Policeman the tax was in the post, so the Policeman said to the driver I will just check your vehicle over, he checked the tyres, the lights, the horn, the indicators and the brake lights. The Policeman said to the driver everything seems to be in order, I just need to check your insurance and MOT Certificate, the driver handed them to the Policeman, the Policeman said Ok thank you, the driver then said is that all officer? The Policeman repaid not really I am going to report you for having no tax, and no insurance. I have just shown you them the driver said, The Policeman replied, yes you have, but you told me your Tax was in the post, if it were, the Insurance Certificate and MOT Certificate would be accompanying them, and you have just shown me them, meaning your tax is not in the post. Because you have no tax it also voids your insurance. Is there a moral to this story? It happened in 1973
What relevance does this have to the original post? I'm completely mystified!

Re: Returning member
I always remember the punishment I got for revealing names, revealing who people are and what Psudinym they go under, seems the forum rules have changed and I have not seen the new rules. I have never complained about my punishment I just take it has it comes, I think my last was having PM facility taken from my account. Strange though you do get used to it and now does not bother me. Never apologized and never asked for the facility to be put back in place. Never also reported a post to my knowledge, even though I could have done. There have been a few against forum rules but I just take them in good fun and think like a few on here say Kim Kardashion eat your heart out.

Re: Returning member
My God that must of taken some time looking upBenni, have you lost the will to live or are you bored of going places in Luxor? That was me disclosing who I WAS not who someone else is or was.

Did you have an exciting 24 hour break?Major Thom wrote:I think I will give you all a break so you can have some fun, I am sick of having fun now and have got too many things to do, too many place to go, and far too many other interests than my laptop.

Re: Returning member
So why spend so much time on the forum scouring past posts to make proclamations? It can only be that you have a lot of time on your hands and no time for your so called beloved Luxor. I did not realize I was so important to some people. But there you go. I can see this becoming a hot subject and leading on to multi pages, like my posts normally do, unlike the single page posts. Very much in the way of Scottish Tourist. Yes I had a little break, went to see friends, and a bit of sight seeing, also a bit of shopping, if that make you feel better, I would hate for people to not know what I am up to...

I don't see it the same way at all and am putting on my MODERATOR hat and closing the thread.Major Thom wrote:I can see this becoming a hot subject and leading on to multi pages, like my posts normally do, unlike the single page posts.
Denisgr has reintroduced herself to the forum, and it good to see her back. I hope she continues to remain with us, ask questions and post about her own experience of Luxor.

Re: Returning member
Like I said, it only took a moment. I often take time writing posts and yes, I have the luxury of time and can spend it, and my money, where I wish, which is still Egypt.Major Thom wrote:So why spend so much time on the forum scouring past posts to make proclamations? You are has important has anyone else on this forum. No more, no less. We choose how much we want to reveal about ourselves on a forum and you have shared a lot of information including the names of yourself and wife. I am often provoked when you project your own values and frustrations onto me from problems with my villa (I rent a flat) to living in donkey dong without electricity and water, which has never been the case.
This time, you conclude that I am bored of Luxor and have lost the will to live. I am not foolish enough to stay in a place that I dislike. I cannot see why on Earth I would be here - or even on a Luxor debate forum - if I was tired of Luxor.
I may move on any day, but this is still where I want to be.

Denisegr has reintroduced herself. I hope she will continue posting, asking questions and also will let us know of her experience when she returns to visit Luxor and the Nile area again.
