Now I never liked the series probably my age then.

But watching it now it's quite good in a weird way.
The actors are great, the plot obvious but the locations were in...... Yorkshire!

Not my normal sort of film, but enjoyable must be that age thing again...

Watched it a few weeks ago and have to say it was nothing like the original TV series. You just can't improve on the perfect. For those that enjoyed the Hobbit and Lord of the rings, watched a new film called Warcraft. Loads of good quality CGI, decent story line and well acted. The Orc's home world is dying , so they create a dark magic fueled portal to another planet. Let the invasion begin.

I also watched it a couple of months back, but I could not really relate to any of the characters, it was OK, but nothing like the original.

Really excellent film had me in tears,
I had no idea that Switzerland (that so-called democratic) country never allowed women the vote until the 70's....

I shall have to put that one on my ‘to watch’ list Dr.
So that another example of those Europeans lecturing us Brits while behaving like bloody Philistines ……….. er, I mean, er Swiss.

In that case I can understand why those wonderful Swiss people decided it was for the best.

I was SO disappointed with this film but I can't decide exactly why. Some really good actors and actresses in it. Bill Nighy is one of my favourites, ditto Sarah Lancashire just 2 of a distinguished cast, but Blake Harrison was terrible as Pike. There was a decent plot too but all in all it was a very poor film.
Overseen some excellent tv while I've been in the UK though, but all of them without exception from many years past, all on the "rerun" channels. I'd forgotten how witty some of them were - Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads, Rising Damp, One Foot in the Grave, In Loving Memory, etc etc.
The tv highlight of my holiday though was every episode on a daily basis of Sean Bean in Sharpe. TV Heaven!
