In a facebook group, we are discussing how as children we had misunderstood some lines in songs and sung them in a funny way. Someone just shared that they used to hear and sing:
"Ground control to Mao Tse-Tung."

My son had a girlfriend who did the same when singing the song ‘Love is all around’ by Wet, Wet, Wet. When she came to the line “I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes” she would always sing “I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my nose,” much to my amusement.

When I was a child there was a popular song and in our family we always heard it as 'Oats in a Man'. I used to puzzle over this and didn't understand. Later, I came to learn that the song was 'O Sinner Man' (where ya gonna run to). I think it was by the New Christy Minstrals.
