A few weeks ago a friend told me that Tomato Ketchup was good for cleaning brass. When I ran out of cleaner yesterday I decided to give the Tom Ketchup a go not believing that it would work. Well it does. Clean shiny brass now just a quick wipe over with it and then a bit of a dip in water. Brill.

Did you use bread for a cloth

Glad you said ketchup here Carrie, and not tomato sauce, being that it is the vinegar in ketchup that is the active agent,.........you could also use white vinegar.

Tomato sauce, tomato paste or tomato juice works just as well. ( because of the citric & malic acid in tomatoes)
