Written by a pal Robert who used to live in Cairo, I went deep into the Western desert with him once.
I should have advised this to our MT before he even decided to relocate here, it might have saved him a lot of grief.
But did supply us with many laughs.....
It's highly informative and very funny...

May be worth adding to my 'To Read' pile...if I can reach the top of it to add anything to at all!

Thanks Who2.
Just acquired the kindle version and look forward to reading it by the pool during these long, scorching and pretty boring summer days.

Just finished Lost Oasis by Robert Twigger.....EXCELLENT!
A bit rambling to start with....but once the action gets going, riveting.
Robert's trip at the end, with his pal Steve, and the various characters they meet paints a very genuine picture of desert exploration. And being only a decade ago, you can easily relate to the Egyptians they encounter, the 'difficulties' of officialdom, the police etc etc
I'll definitely be looking up some of Twigger's other writings although I won't be following in his footsteps ( well...maybe a touristy trip to the White Desert, Bahariya, Dakhla.....) The real stuff is far too strenuous for my old bones!
Many thanks Who2 for the recommendation.
