The Brits have just shown they'll buy any old crap Boris, Teresa, Gove....any of them could turn up at the palace come September
Fortunately, HM has a sense of humour, and the newbie's lack of gravitas won't faze her. She's 90, FFS, has seen worse and will probably think to herself....."I'd better check the teaspoons after this one's left"
Well it's not going to be Boris, he's refused to stand. Think we might well have a leader of the female sex in both main parties, plus the Scots. Bring on the girls they certainly can't do worse than the men have.

God forbid!
The only periods we need now are ones of stability
Just saw Teresa on't telly, she's seems to have her head-on, she'd be ok, hopefully she learn't a bit from the 'Iron Maiden.
Amazing how many people you meet on my rounds that talk about nothing else.
Bet all the politicians are basking in it....'mind you they are up against Wimbledon & the new England Captain, it certainly won't be Sven our local football hero on £16 mill a year....
"The Salvation of Mankind lies in making everything the responsibility of All"
Sophocles.
My money is still on Teresa May, even though she was a remainer just listening to the platform she was standing on I reckon she will resonate with many people both in government and the population at large, so what odds are you going to give me Newcastle? We could do it in 'Internet Bitcoins'

That presupposes I give a toss who they choose
The electoral flock of the Conservative party...all 200,000 of them.....will vote with their instincts baaa....baaa. They are unlikely to be swayed by the respective stances of the candidates on the referendum. Both candidates will be fudging that issue like mad when the time comes! I'd have thought Gove would have the better chance.....unless Boris switches allegiance again ....but I wouldn't put money, even bitcoins, on it
Unusually, their choice would appear to be immaterial in connection with the next General Election as there doesn't seem to be much by way of HM's Opposition go consider
No......I'm not a betting man....but my forecast, if you insist, is Gove
I don't think the current Cons are as amenable to being spanked as they were in Thatcher's day. Even though Gove is all for education, he seems a "spare the rod" type to me.
I'll sing her praises - well maybe not - because the actor who played her in the Bond movie was the great German cabaret/opera singer from the 1930's - Lotte Lenya. Obviously hard times for her by the 1960's. Married at one stage to composer Weill.
Maybe the message in the current context is that not all is as it seems and everyone has to play a role - often not the one you would like and that getting a job is a priority - even if its just the job of thwarting 'Her Majesty's Government' - as it was for the unforgettably expressive and raw singing voice of Lotte.
Two quips I've read. 1. Boris is Trump with a Thesaurus. 2. Conservative Party scarecrows - referring to Gove and others - hollow, ugly and they frighten the children.
If you thought the process for determining our future in Europe was a travesty of democracy (well...I did!).....then you may not be that surprised that the next Prime Minister will be chosen by a simple majority of an electorate comprising Tory backwoodsmen & women, complete with tweeds, twinset & pearls.....all 150,000 of them!
You couldn't make it up.
As for the skullduggery of Gove knifing Boris and now trying to knife Leadsom (whoever SHE is) in order to snatch the top job from Teresa May Thatcher (Mark II)........House of Cards stuff
News reports that Boris has contracted the virus. Does this means Downing Street will be closed for business?

I saw a news clip yesterday which included a video call with Boris Johnson and I thought then how poorly he looked. His breathing also sounded much more laboured than a few days ago.
So Mrs May is on her way to Sharm El Sheik to take part in an Arabic summit. What can she bring to the table I wonder. Also if our PM can fly into SSH why can't us plebs who would like to holiday...
