They're definitely interesting and definitely have a prehistoric look to them. Thanks for posting MT.

Pleased you enjoyed LLL, when we go in August again we will visit a Cassawary Sanctuary, to see what is being done to protect these birds and stop them from certain extinction. There are quite a few animals that are now protected for their own good, such as Wombats and Tasmanian Devils. Both me and my wife are wildlife lovers and are always pleased to see people protecting dwindling species.

Fascinating to me how animals in Australia ARE definitely different from those found in other parts of the world. Marsupials are interesting.

Hopefully these birds will be saved from extinction. They are definitely different.

QED!
That's why we sent all our thieves, vagabonds, robbers, footpads down there including all those fraudsters from the debtor's prison.
Put that lot together and then let them get bitten by all and every 'creepy-crawly, hoppy hoppy things around.
Then proceed to kill off all the natives and try to create a silk purse out of sows's ear.

Australia
Then rule it from thousands of miles away, that's really clever thinking of somebody..
With "right bonzer... 'boozers,blonds,beaches,barbies, that's down-under.
Oh! and thousands of duck-billed plactapusses running around like London's feral fox population here....

I mean, even these things hop over all over their streets...hop hop hop,
I like things that hop, here's a hoppa I once met out in the desert.

Oh! Yes, and what about those red-spiders that hide under their toilet seats ?
...just waiting to bite you in your bum...think on that !
I was meant to go there aged 14, under a scheme ominously named 'Big Brother, My God 'glad it never happened.
Seems that they still like coming here to Laandaan, although, only 126,316 (2011 Census)
bless them, Earls' Court wouldn't be Earls' Court without them...

Your talking about Funnel Web Spiders Dr.

It's incredible how these thieves and vagabonds have turned a Country into a cosmopolitan, clean, get up and go Country. Maybe we should have held them back in the UK

I am only replying to this utter drivel MT spouts yet again (it would be nice if he could be bothered to spell the name of the bird correctly) so as to tell the correct answer: Dr, you mean the Red-Back spider. Only likely to be found in such places far from civilisation, not suburban bathrooms.

Now he'll probably pretend he did it deliberately to get me to respond. The rest of you are far more intelligent, I know. :|

Look up Funnel Web Spiders on Wikipedia WI, I don't live here you do, I would have expected a resident of Australia to know about Funnel Webs, due to them being found around suberbia. All you are doing is quoting another species.

Once again you fail to read people's replies properly. This time you managed it twice in one post. In case you still cannot comprehend, the Dr and I were both referring to the Redback, not the Funnel-Web. Sigh.

Go and look yourself, at a redback spider. Funnel-web's are too big to fit under a toilet seat; they'd be squashed as soon as you sat down. They like warm, dark places; hardly how you'd describe a toilet seat.

Read some facts about both and compare the species, especially their size which is quite different, and stop trying to "educate" with incorrect information. There's even a famous song about Red-Backs and toilet seats:

As I regularly have some resident in my backyard, and having once "milked" a funnel web for it's venom, I and the universe know who is the ignorant one on this topic. I 'm sure most on here are way too smart to believe any information you "know" about Australia without first googling for themselves. If they don't they are as foolish as he; do NOT trust his pronouncements if you want to learn corectly .

You continue to dig your own reputation's grave MT.

Like you say WI red backs are found far away from civilisation, and not suburban bathrooms, that's why I took it the Dr had got mixed up between the two.

That is also a reason for me to ask to query what you say, and why the song if Red Backs are not common to civilian populated areas, where toilet seats can be found. Is it me or canno one else understand?
