The Cave

Plato told a fascinating tale named The analogy of the cave. :up
Its well worth watching on youtube, and only lasts for 5 minutes.

If you go into a cave, deep inside a cave, you naturally are quiet, something about the dark that makes people whisper for some strange reason. I assume that because you cannot see, then you try subconciusly to highten your other senses to assist in the navigation.

If one likens the darkness to evil, then it appears to be overwhelming and contigious, but if you light a small candle, you can now see the cave for what it is, then navigation and movement in general becomes easier and faster.
.
Sure, the candle cannot illuminate ALL the pockets of darkness, but now you real-eyes that the darkness is infact fragmented and not contigious. It also gives you the courage to explore those pockets of darkness if you so choose.

If you look in the cave and examine what you can now see, you will see there is no insect life in that darkness, things like spiders and creepy crawlies need to operate in the light, mosly in the shadows, which is from where they cast thier webs, out into the light, and drag thier prey into their domain, The shadows. To devour it at thier leisure.

I do enjoy so much when we learn on here such wonderful words of wisdom.

A fantastic change from others, who it seems their only reason for being on this site is to attempt to get a one line or less quip, hoping to gain a so called 'like', rather than attempt to enter into debate.

We've got no money, times are hard, and friends are few, so just find it if you can,.............

...............and while you're at it, there seems to be a party by those down in Luxor on LIVING IN, so if you can find a little song called 'Happy days are here again', but then again, 'There maybe trouble ahead', would perhaps be more appropriate, if you see what I mean.

My eyes are blind, i cannot see, i have not brought my specs with me.
I have an excuse, i did not have time to pull the rip cord when my plane was shot down, and i was left dazed and confused on the shore, and my friends were no where to be seen.

Forgive me father for i have sinned, the valley told me to lie, rather than to lay down in the green pastures.

I have driven my tractot out of the valley and disconected the plogh, but i see no ship in the harbough, but i know in my heart it is there....

They will have a field day with that one... :cg

So, if you forgot to bring a candle and a match, then be like the bat, and use your ears.
Yell Help and listen to the echoes for navigation.

Which reminds me of a little ditty...

2 vampire bats in a cave, as evening falls, they both set out for prey to suck the blood.
The first bat cant find anything, so returns to the cave.
Half an hour later, the other bat returns, and it has blood dripping from its teeth.
The first bat says, where did you find your quarry ?
The second bat says. You see that rock rock just outside the entrance to the cave ?
The first bat says, oh yes, i do..
The second bat says, well i fuc#ing didn't....

Anyhow, dear people, the Artful dodger is not for me, i want to return home to the west end, and i will keep this particular part of the forum occupied, and the so called moderators on their toes no doubt.. :br

Sleep well, and dont have any nightmares.... it,s all in your mind you sinners.... :wi

Last time i was in a cave, i had the sense to bring 2 wing men, a zippo and a sh1t load of dry firewood.
I lit the fire ad we danced anti clockwise around said fire, and we saw all the tunnels.

The bats evacuated the cave, and the conservationists banned me from ever entering the cave again.

I said, fine, its a crap cave anyway, so i ordered a girlfriend from Japan and asked her to perform her magic outside the entrance of said cave. She is not human, and the batteries have a limited supply, so i ordered some solar panels from china as backup.
The ******** got wind of my cunning plan, and put clouds in the sky, but luckily, you dont need direct sunlight for said panels to operate.

One step ahead of the game..... :cg

Now, as soon as i get the green light, i will retire to a safe distance, and let Samantha do her thing. It may take a while, but the show aint over till the fat lady sings...
