Considering the recent destruction by IS of the sites of cultural and historical interest in Iraq, and the imminent expected destruction of similar sites in Libya, is it wise that so many new sites of historical interest are being unearthed and announced in Egypt at the moment?
What plans, if any, does the Egyptian government have to try to protect the world famous sites, not least those in Luxor?
OK... I'm not expecting anyone to come up with detailed plans of protection - that would somewhat defeat the objective! I was however wondering if such things are being mentioned on the news, or being talked about at a local level.
