Mystery Plays were performed here in the 16c it was the 'hub of the spoken & written word & published as such was Clerkenwell, plus in it's environs it contained 4 major Gin distillers hence the amount of printed sh** one reads, but hey if one has to live somewhere EC1 ain't half-bad in my books..
Ps: Plus it contains some of the coolest restaurants on this planet..
