I doubt the percentage of male transgressors is anything like as high as that D. Except where there are willing female tourists, there's little opportunity. No decent girl would risk going that far and widows and divorcees would be similarly restrained unless they were sure the man was intending to marry them. Sure...
The stereotype of the Egyptian gigolo and his older European ladies is well known, talked about like a horse beaten to death, even featured in the Daily Mail and other papers from time to time.
However, let's be clear here, the foreign single males living in Egypt aren't chaste and abstaining, either compared to their female compatriots or the locals. And I am not talking about the gay men, but the straight unmarried ones. Many of them not being Muslim or Copts, they have no option of making their paramours honest ladies like the gigolos do, so it is obviously not talked about or as well known as it has to be more hush-hush, but it is happening. One time I came across a reference to a restaurant serving a particular cuisine and having a craving for this food, I googled the name of the restaurant. Well, it took me to a site I would rather I had never seen as the content was revolting. Turns out the restaurant was a front for something else, but the site itself was where all the foreign men in Egypt go to discuss their "intercultural relationships" and believe me it makes the stories you read here about the European ladies look like innocent puppy love.
Well I can't comment on that as I'm the only so called straight guy that is unattached and don't know of any others in Luxor, all my friends [male] are gay. I suppose that it does go on here just the same as other places. Nothing wrong in wanting a sexual relationship, but I think it very discourteous to discuss your partners side of things in public or on any forum. Always have done and always will do. As for the anal sex, that's up to the individual concerned, but personally speaking, my pipework was manufactured for one way traffic only as I consider others as being the same.

@Dusak - ??? What?? Not following what you're not doing but "always have done" .... ???
As for the Saudi students here that I know they're all young men in their middle to late 20ies and in active studies in University. They meet up, hang out at the coffee shops, socialize amongst themselves, play sports, tour around, swim etc however I've never seen one of them with a woman. None of them smoke (which is quite different from Egyptian males I know even my friends), drink, swear - they really all present as smartly dressed polite young men. Can envision them cat calling or "falling in love" in a heartbeat etc. as apparently happens readily in Egypt.
About the only thing they tend to do in excess is spray themselves with perfume! Wow they're fragrant! And the hair styling + beards + moustaches on some is really quite elaborate. They must stand for hours in front of a mirror making sure each and every hair is in place.
It could be that the only Saudis who are allowed to leave are the ones who are perfect role models of what a serious studious Saudi is supposed to be but they're definitely not harassing women or chasing skirts.

First of all you numty, I meant that I have always respected the privacy of my partner, and always will do as it is not a topic that is open for discussion out of respect for that person. I do not like bedroom talk.

I'm happy to say that the gay guy's that I call friends all know that it is common knowledge that they are gay. It would be clever of them if any one could garner who these folk were with no names mentioned in the first place. Unless of course they started to stick toothpicks under my fingernails, then I would start singing like the proverbial dicky bird.

They don't garner who your friends are by their names. They garner them by following you, watching you, listening to and tracking your phone calls, their informant network...That is if they decide to do so. I don't think you understand what being discreet really means, because by those standards, you aren't discreet at all.

I consider your above post very silly in is content and juvenile in its point. You really are quite crass at times GD, one moment you throw yours toys out of the cot stating that I will no longer be able to criticize or insult you any more via my reply's, then do a Lazarus and out of the three posts you give, are quite nasty and critical. What is the point?

How you consider my post is of no relevance to me. I simply stated a fact about how the security services work in this country. That applies to everyone in Egypt, not just you. If YOU want to be silly and juvenile, you can regard it as criticism, or if not, then you can take it as some general sage advice and information for everyone here. But how you view it only affects you and your friends, not me.
Yes. but the way you give out advise or respond it is in the form of communication to a supposed twelve year old. I'm sixty one, full set of marbles and still with a full batch of common sense. All know about walls with ears, listening in on private calls, monitoring the web, ss following suspects and kids playing games.
And I would fully expect a small section of my response to be blue highlighted by you stating ''you said it not me'' so I've saved you the trouble.

A Scotsman and his wife walked past a swanky new restaurant.
Did you smell that food? she asked. Incredible!
Being a kind-hearted Scotsman, he thought,
What the heck..., I'll treat her!
