Pearls without the wisdom are just cheap trinkets devoid of their own uniqueness and individuality, repetitive to the point of being indistinguishable from the genuine article, that is, unless we speak of a wizards wisdom which just can not be copied.

There are those that cast their pearls before swine. There are others who can make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Wealth and wisdom and/or ingenuity do not always go together.

You are all probably right, my wisdom was knocked from me in the thirst to make hard cash, to support my wife and family, and to improve our living standards. In them days, everything else was secondary, I would not even consider taking on contracts that did not offer a 7 day 12 hour working day, always believing that hard work brings its own reward, in some cases I still think that way.

If there was a queue a mile long for a good rewarding contract, it would be me that fought the devil to get to the front of the queue , it was me that believed in myself to do a better job of work than anyone else in the queue, whether I was right or wrong. It was me that would work away from home for months at a time and only seeing Mrs Choccy for maybe 2 days every quarter of the year it would be me that towed my touring caravan around the Country always looking for the best contract, it would be me that would stand up and tell any employer, "I would not waste my time getting out of bed for that money" From 1990 I set my stall out to earn a minimum amount of money per week, I stood by that, and was always successful. Too many people underestimate themselves or do not have the belief in themselves to push themselves to the front. So in my mind you are maybe all right in saying that wisdom and wealth do not always run hand in hand, but I would sooner give up my wisdom for wealth any day in my working years, and my team of men would do the same. But then again you may say that to accumulate wealth you need wisdom, in which case I may be right and you may all be wrong. It's a fine line to what the individual require in their life.

Always remember the best time to make money is during a recession, it makes you think harde

Integrity - Well what can I say about that, isn't that what other people accuse people of being? or do individuals ask themselves do I live by integrity? Its a bit like scruples, if you have scruples, stay out of business, only show a few of the scruples you have learned to your client.

Now I have retired the time myself and Mrs Choccy spend together is heavenly, and long awaited. But my principles for the young is to think no work, no money!!

And if you had dropped dead before you retired?

I just think about that as two of my best friends died recently, both at the age of 54 and both suddenly without warning (one a heart attack, the other a stroke). What would Mrs. Choccy be doing now?

I can take that easy but dare not print on here what Mrs Choccy said when I read it out to her!! the first thing she said, was "I would not be here I would be in Australia" The other things she said are certainly unprintable   Then she fell about laughing and said "What do these people take me for?"

Well CE, never let it be said that I only give out the bad bits in life, so I'm going to billow your sails out a little. You and your wife cropped up in a conversation the other night while I was with friends. It was said, by someone that has been in you and your wife's company that you are the life and soul of the party. Very funny at times, knowledgeable in certain topics and your wife I quote ''an absolute lovey.'' And not only that, two others also passed similar statements. :up Perhaps your right when you so regularly state on here that people do not know the real you.

And me being an honest kind of guy, mused out loud as to ''I wonder what they say about me when I've left,'' the consensus of opinion was, that opinion has not changed since I arrived here and people got to know me. That opinion being that I'm a sarcastic t**t, a statement that was deluged with much laughter, grins, spitting out of drink and ''we're only joking'' attempt of denial towards the truth. I'm now looking for a new set of friends. Perhaps the now none committal GD would consider starting the ball rolling with the creation of a new circle  Of course that does not mean its a closed shop as anyone on here can apply as well. :up I just need to :tk think of a quirky title for this hopefully up and coming new social group. But not ''the comity.''
