Women's World Day of Prayer, 2014

Well, 3/4 of the day has passed by with no mention in the forums.

Women's World Day of Prayer has been held on the first Friday in March since (ottomh) the late 1940s. This year it is 'hosted' by Egypt, and it is today.

Even in a small city like Worcester there are half a dozen services/events.

Is anything happening in Luxor, or anywhere else in Egypt? If so, please post photos or details.

From Brian Yare's link:

For more information about a World Day of Prayer service near you, please contact your National Committee .

We should all have been in Worcester then, because no National Committee of Egypt is listed.

Worcester held several events, but Helen informs me that they only advertised them locally. The national site lists one in Droitwich this evening though.

My concern was that the International 'mother site' for this organisation had no link to an Egyptian group even though Egypt is the official 'host' this year.

I get the impression that the organisation is a (mainly) Christian one rather than an inter-faith one.

But I could be wrong!

It was broadcast all over here (Canada) with several different all day workshops being held even in my small town.

But still no reports from Egypt. The "host country". Curiouser and curiouser!
