The U.S funds Egypt but does it ever give them advice on reducing their population? I think not. So short sighted. Population growth makes every problem worse.

Advice from US on reducing their population? Yes....I can see that would be well-received
Successive Egyptian governments are well-aware of the demographic time-bomb that the country's population growth represents. Altering the mindset of the greater part of the population is another matter. It's not just an Egyptian problem. I recall watching a Gaza resident (in his 40's I'd guess) bemoaning his fate, lack of food, work etc,.....surrounded by his thirteen children.

Think that by stopping motorbikes being imported for a year will also cause a population explosion, at the moment they are culling quite a few every week.... In the area where I live 11 people I know of myself have been killed in motorbike accidents alone, either by hitting newly formed unmarked or signed mountainous speed bumps put up by locals who think its ok for their children to play freely in the roads, by going leery thinking they have some form of protection from elsewhere, by not wearing crash helmets because they are invincible, drinking and riding, drug taking and riding, not keeping their motorbikes in a proper maintained order, (they can hardly afford to buy them let alone maintain them).

I quite agree. All households with an eligible male (i.e. one over the age of eight) should be given a free motorbike with instructions to "go forth & mutilate". And raise the speed bumps, deepen the potholes while you're about it.

The West is doing its bit by freely distributing armaments to the Third World (often described as 'aid' to placate the squeamish)....with which they can slaughter one another. It's high time these poorer countries stepped up to the mark and made their own contribution.
