An Egyptian prosecutor ordered on Saturday that 14 suspects be detained for four days pending investigations into allegations that they committed "homosexual acts" inside a medical centre in the Cairo neighborhood of Al-Marg.

The prosecutor also ordered that the suspects be sent to a specialist for forensic reports and that the centre be shut down, Al-Ahram's Arabic website reported.

Egyptian authorities raided the centre after it was confirmed that "immoral acts" had taken place between males aged 18 to 57 years old.

The prosecutor ordered that all evidence be confiscated as investigations take place.

Egyptian law, which does not formally illegalise homosexuality, punishes sodomy by up to five years in jail.

In 2001, 52 Egyptian men also stood trial on charges of "sexual immorality," in the infamous "Queen Boat" saga.

That's my colonoscopy appointment at the Josef street clinic cancelled tomorrow then. :worry: My Doctor, Professor Ben Dover will be disappointed as he likes to keep his eyes on the ball were medical things are concerned.

Well if Dr Ben Dover is doing a colonoscopy and keeping an 'eye on the ball' then perhaps he isn't the best to be performing the scope......
