By any chance, has anyone got this book tucked away in a corner of their bookcase and would be willing to lend or sell it???????
Egyptian civilization. John Wilson. Translated by Ahmed Fakhry
T'other half has been looking for it for ages. His friend who has the other Alboudi bookshop down near Isis is looking, and has said there is one in a Cairo library (or shop?) But our funds are limited, but would be willing to pay fair price!
Ta very much!

Re: Book wanted!
Yes, we have tried Amazon, but only one book near this title, but not this particular tome!
GD, Can you as an Egyptologist, recommend a good base line of books, in Arabic? He needs comphrehensive and understandable infomation (lots of it!) as he is hoping in the future to get a Masters degree, whilst he has no work he is using this time to do some extra studies. He is a veritable sponge for knowlege on Ancient Egyptian history and enjoys it immensely!
Thanks in anticipation of some good reccomendations!

If he wants to do a master's degree he should learn English, French and German and read the books in their original languages. You can't be competent and have a master's degree in Egyptology if you can't read those languages. I wish there was more in Arabic but I am sure if he already has done a bachelor's degree he should be familiar with the works written in Arabic that are more up to date.

Seconded. From my reasonably extensive knowledge there is very little available only in Arabic.Glyphdoctor wrote:If he wants to do a master's degree he should learn English, French and German and read the books in their original languages.
