Khair Zaman

Post by JohnB »

For something fairly quick and easy Khair Zaman is a pizza take-out on the west bank (on your right as you drive from the crossroads to the ferry, just past the bridal shop and the small petrol station next to a butchers), they have a variety of pizzas including Chicken, Hot Dog, BBQ, Tuna and Seafood.

I enjoyed their fare yesterday. The consensus amongst a few friends who have visited seems to be that the Chicken is best. It's good value and reasonable quality. They also have a small seating area if preferred.

Yes we tried it a couple of days ago, the pizza wasn't bad at all. I think it is the same chef who was in the previous pizza shop that closed down. Not sure if they do home delivery or not, but hopefully it will be a success :eat

I have a menu here Brian, but sadly it is in Arabic and I can't understand it lol. My personal translator is not at home right now and all I know is our medium-size chicken pizza was 20 le (takeaway)

My Arabic is also not wonderful, but a few more examples:

The cheapest pizza is 14 (S) , 16 (M) and 22 (L)
BBQ Pizza is 18 (S) , 22 (M) and 24 (L)
Seafood (the most expensive) is 20 (S), 26 (M) and 35 (L)

The prices don't go up evenly but vary by flavour and size

Sounds good to me - a lot cheaper than Dominoes!

I will check it out later this year :eat

It has been there for quite a while. I also noted it only had an Arabic menu but he did not have any to take away at the time I looked in. I will make a point of getting a copy (or photo of same) so I can get it translated. The old take away shop was excellent and always did good business so we were all very surprised and saddened when it closed down just after the 2011 revolution began.

I hope they are doing the feteers as well...so yummy :eat

If it is run by the same people as before, then the two chefs, I think you will discover are/were from Alex.
