I love this drink. I use a 3rd of the block to make 1.5 litres (though ive been told that's strong) so I get 4.5 out of a packet, Cost 3LE (a packet)

Just add water... add some sugar if you like it sweeter. :)

PS: Be careful if you take some home with you, it looks like blocks of dope

More vimto but not as fruity or sasparilla but it's been 30+ years since I last tasted that so could be wrong.

When we came to Luxor last summer during Ramadan our caleche driver gave us a black drink to try, and told us it was particularly used during Ramadan time. So found this thread interesting, and the link posted. High in calcium, not many drinks can claim that I suppose.

I love this stuff!
It's got a great sweet sour thing going on. I have a friend that likes to eat it fresh in the pods and if you buy it that way you get the added bonus of getting the seeds and you can then grow your own little palm as the seeds grow really well.

Supposed to be good for blood pressure, I think Godess is right, that sweet/sour thing I love it. Have you ever made doum, that also is gorgeous especially when made with milk.

Definitely like Vimto. Does vimto actually contain tamarind?, I wouldn't be at all surprised.
