A group of tourists, held on suspicion of filming a pornographic movie in Egypt, has been released after the authorities apologized.

Ten Georgian tourists were arrested on Saturday on the misunderstanding that they were shooting pornographic movies, while the Georgians were simply holding a swimwear photoshoot.

The staff was working for the reality show "Top Gogo" (Top Girl) , a Georgian version of "America's Next Top Model", Archil Dzuliashvili, Georgian Ambassador to Egypt, Syria and Tunisia told Georgian media.

“The incident is over now. Police of Hurghada officially apologised, while the crew continues working in Hurghada,” he said.

“These tourists were diving and shooting the beautiful aquatic flora and fauna. The security officer had wrongly assessed the situation due to his inexperience,” a spokesperson for Egypt’s tourism minister said.

This kind of clampdowns has increased after the Muslim Brotherhood came to rule the country. Recently, artists and women activists took to the streets over the increased censorship and double-morals of the coutry.

In 2012 , a study found that five out of the 100 top-visited websites in Egypt were pornographic in spite of the official condemnedation of that genre.

I wonder if it had been the Luxor five on that particular beach they would of been arrested for possible indecency/ porno charges while prancing about in their swim wear? 8)
