It could be me - I don't think so - but the latest Norton product for Mac slows down everything including scrolling down web pages which include few graphics. Endless waiting whilst the rainbow disc rotates. The web is full of the same complaints.

I abandoned Norton a long time ago in it's Windows Guise for the same reasons Hafiz.
Have you allowed it to fully scan your system to see if you have any nasties lurking.
TBH, you shouldn't really need a third party protection system, given that Mac's run Linux underneath that slick exterior..
There are many sites slagging off Norton ans OS - X
This one is very helpful, as the first section helps you with the full removal of the product...

LLL a lady from the UK had the same problem and had to buy a new hard drive. I have always found the best to be AVG, never had any problems, but people seem to buy by the common names, their are many Security systems out there better than Norton

I eventually ditched Norton as I had nothing but trouble, especially with the new release 360, load of cack. The problem was, in the UK you always got three months free Norton with a new computer purchase, so you just kept with it until the light in the brain box went back on. I now use Kaspersky and never had a problem since after four years.

From advice on here, I tried AVG. I had no end of trouble, so ditched it, and all is fine.

Weird, I have used AVG since 2004 and never had a single glitch..
Although, if an infection was already present prior to installing AVG, then that would cause problems with the installation,
as the infection will attempt to block Anti Virus and anti Malware programs.

If I remember correctly, it was causing problems with Skype, and I think having a Mac contributed.
