The Freedom and Justice Party's legal committee claims that new evidence that will be presented in the retrial of former President Hosni Mubarak may lead to him being sentenced to death.

The party's legal committee chairman Mokhtar al-Ashry said that new evidence has been presented to the fact-finding committee formed by President Mohamed Morsy to investigate the killing of protesters during the revolution. However, Ashray refused to disclose what the new evidence was, saying he was not authorized to reveal it.

Mubarak, 84, was jailed for life last year after being found guilty of failing to prevent the killing of protesters by security forces trying to quell mass demonstrations. But this month, a higher court accepted an appeal from him and former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly and ordered a retrial.

No date has been set yet for the new trial of the former president.

Am I right in thinking that protesters have been killed since President Morsi took office? If so, how long will it be before everyone is baying for his blood, as well as that of good old Hosni?

One way or another, the Grim reaper has his hand well and truly on on Hosni's Shoulder... :cg

Reminds me of Somerset Maugham's Appointment in Samarra.. :tk

I nicked this bit from Wiki.. Me and Hard work dont see eye to eye...

A merchant in Baghdad sends his servant to the marketplace for provisions.
Shortly, the servant comes home white and trembling and tells him that in the marketplace he was jostled by a woman,
whom he recognized as Death, and she made a threatening gesture.

Borrowing the merchant's horse, he flees at top speed to Samarra, a distance of about 75 miles,
where he believes Death will not find him.

The merchant then goes to the marketplace and finds Death, and asks why she made the threatening gesture.
She replies,

"That was not a threatening gesture, it was only a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Baghdad, for I had an appointment with him tonight in Samarra."

Methinks HM has more lives than a cat given the number of times he has presented as being on death's door.

Wonder how many who engaged in the Arab Spring now have regrets?
